Before and After......

Some of you may remember when I was asking for advice on what colour door and awnings to do to freshen up the curb appeal.. It was clear to me that the wine coloured door and awnings were clashing with the pink brick...So I called on you fabulous bloggers for help..

The general consensus was do go with black...

See orignal post HERE...and thanks for all your comments/help you guys!

I finally bit the bullet and ordered the awnings and ...
(this is the back door)

had the door painted ....

Voila!
I can't wait to add the new black planter on the front steps, and potted plants and my patio furniture out back.. Stay tuned as the weather warms up! and thanks again for your help!

THANK YOU!!
I would love to..but the row of homes I live on are very similar...don't think the city would allow it... I have a little round vent above the garage that the painter is going to come back and paint black and then 2 black planters for the porch... my lamp post is black as well...

Love a touch of black and this looks great!!! I have a soft yellow/cream house with white trim and touches of black. you can see it on my sidebar of my blog. I love the crisp feel black gives and would love to put black and white striped awnings on the front!!! KATHYSUE

Ivy! They look wonderful, really great!! It's amazing how these touches of black transformed the look...so elegant & classic, really works well with the brick, paint color and actually compliments your lovely entry pillar beautifully...it's perfect! so happy for you...that's a nice one to check off the list!

Hello:
Yes, yes, yes...the black is most certainly a tremendous improvement upon the previous colour. The contrast with the brick is both stylish and yet subtly sophisticated. It oozes confidence.

I realise that we have only just found you but a suggestion, if we might be so bold, would be to line both sides of the path with the topiarised plants. This would give balance to the approach to the house and a strong draw for the visitor to he hall door.
