Photo by Moi!I am sure many of you work from home or have a home office of some sort. The above image is a snippit of my home office. It is my little area of inspiration. The painting is by my mom and is what pops up when I comment on other blogger's sites. The pot the plant is in is my little touch of modern and was given to me by my sister Joanne..Thanks Joanne, I finally found a place for it after all these years! The fountain provides relaxation and some creative stimulation....The rest of the room, is a little less inspiring hence today's post!
I have been having a bit of blogger's block lately and have been lacking on inspiring things to write about. It dawned on me that I need to re-vamp my home office space a bit to help stimulate creativity. Above is a picture of an area in famed style icon Bonnie Cashin's office. She was such a creative person and it's no wonder. Look at all her sketches and paintings above her desk . She used simple packing paper as the backround. 
Here's a few pics of one of Cashin's grafitti walls. Many have blogged about these wonderful walls. I felt this was worth one more mention! It has been said she had a grafitti wall in each of her homes and office. I read a wonderful testimony HERE 
Opposite the grafitti wall is a fabric swatch board. I love all the inspirational things in these images.

I can image myself sitting at the above desk writing thank you notes or invites. I love the clean lines of the Albini desk from Knoll circa 1958. For those that know me, I adore mid century modern pieces. The Albini desk is a favorite! I think it is timeless and elegant. The texuture on the walls, the soothing blue cabinet and the softness of the rug make this room "feel" tranquil and quiet.

Who couldn't resist an Eames lounger in their office/library? Though the space is small, the natural light and all the books would be inspiring!

I do love the natural light, the beautiful lines of the antique dutch writing table and the chandelier that was brought from the homeowner's previous home. It adds a nice touch. The color of the forsythia branches really adds a "pop" to the room.
There appears to be a balcony off of this room. What a great place to take a break!
Photographer UnknownNow they call this a 2 person work space. I personally could not work that close to someone. I really need space to spread out. I love the blue wall and the art work behind and above the work space. It is soothing to look at and promotes calm.

Again, The mix of the different wood finishes in the modern desk and cabinet works beautifully with the more traditional elements of the gold lamps, dark flooring and the Japanese screen.

I better get to work and get my inspiration board up, re-hang the artwork and re-position the furniture to create a more inspiring home office! Hope this post inspires you.
