Help Restore an Icon...

I was completely shocked & saddened this morning while perusing All The Best to find that the landmark Farnsworth House by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was flooded by the remnants of Ike... Read more about it HERE.

Here's a photo showing how the home is nestled in on the site. What a fabulous weekend retreat this must have been! Imagine rejuvenating your mind, and soul in this setting after a long work week! Find more photos HERE

If you GOOGLE "Farnsworth House", you will find alot of great information on the history of this house and it's creator, Mies van der Rohe. Even if you don't think you are in love with modern architecture, you may be surprised after learning more about it, that you will at least come to appreciate it.

I fell in love with modern architecture just a few years ago after listing and selling an incredible modern home near my home town. The open floor plan, the walls of glass, natural light and connection to nature had me SOLD! I did a post on it called "Modern Mama"... To this day, I regret not buying it!
