Why Good Decorating Starts With The Right Advice

Striving to make your day a little more beautiful!
If money were no object, I would hire the fabulous Tom Scheerer to revamp my home! The way he mixes modern classics with fabulous antiques and notable works of art creates what he calls "relaxed modernism". That is precisely what I have been striving to do in my own home!
His website is pure eye candy! I am obviously in love with how he incorporates Saarinen tables into a space and they live happily with antiques that are more traditional in flavor.
The wallpaper is a stunning back drop for the antique vanity and modern stool in this jewel of a powder room.
This corner sofa is exactly what I have been looking for to add seating in the corner of my kitchen.
Ahhh...isn't that blue tile just the perfect shade of blue? Perfect for the beach house!
Now this is a perfect blend of old and new. Who would dare to put that antique sofa/settee with the modern lamps and end table...and that rug??!!! It looks fabulous!
The above picture and the one below are similar in layout. Study them carefully and you will start to see some similarities in these very different rooms. I love the use of long benches with the tables. Everything is in it's place yet still feels cozy and warm. I would love to have a fireplace in my dining room..or a hearth room as some call it.
My kitchen is this exact shade of brown. I plan to use this photo for inspiration. I finally can SEE what sisal would look like in my space. I am thinking of a corner sofa with sisal accent rug maybe in that carmel color leather! I love the mix of traditional and clean lines of the benches..I love the modern touch that "chandy" adds.
This photo is of a bedroom Scheerer designed for a renovation he did of a salt box home in the Bahamas. I can almost feel the breeze coming off the ocean!
Here's another example of a Saarinen table surrounded by those fabulous chairs..loving that fret work..and traditional high back sofa. This picture almost gives me the courage to swap out my current coffee table with a Saarinen original..marble topped of course!
Okay... now this is divine.
This sun room harkens me back to the '60's yet still has a fresh modern look. The print on the pillows reminds me of some of the prints of the sun dresses I wore as a kid... I think I could put together a pretty good sun room shopping online at 1st Dibs
Not one, but TWO Saarinen tables! "I die"..! This looks to be the same couch used in previous photo. The fret work chairs are the same..Room is styled slightly different..Check out Mr. Scheerer's website and get ready to be inspired. Make sure to read his profile as well as you will find out the designers he followed and partnered with. I know I am a new fan for sure!
Isn't this picture lovely? I found it on Flickr and the credit goes to Maryam Montague who is blogstar of My Marrakesh Check out her blog! She writes beautifully and has much to share..so inspiring!
