Quest For The Perfect Sofa...

Some of you already know I made a big mistake in purchasing my living room sofa....it is beautiful to look at, but the most uncomfortable thing to sit upon as told to my by my brother in law's girlfriend. Her brutal honesty in telling me "this sofa really sucks!" a few weeks ago, has now motivated me to start a new hunt! (you can read about it in the old post called "Sofa Undone")

My love for modern design has to be melded with some of my already traditional pieces as funds are limited! (wish list 2009 also includes a Sarinnen side table seen in 2 of the pics..LOVE it)

The sofas posted today are clean lined and APPEAR to be comfortable enough! HA!! My mission is to have a new one by the New Year's end!!! That SHOULD give me enough time eh? Wish me luck!

Pop!

It's been a while since I last posted anything. I have been literally tapped out of inspiration! I came across this wonderful picture of Cynthia Rowley's New York Loft entry. The walls are simply lit up with colored bulbs casting the most beautiful warm and inviting hues in the space. The pop of color coming from that mod 60's chair is fab!

Happy Sunday!

Write "IT" Down....

Wouldn't you love to be the recipient of the journal set above? I sure would! As the New Year approaches, many of us reflect on the happenings of 2008, the good the bad and the ugly. I have only kept one journal in my life not counting a childhood diary or 2 and have forgotten how cathartic it can be to write "IT" down. The "IT" is always the intriguing part. What is "IT" that makes us tick? I know what I want to accomplish in the upcoming year, and I know what I NEED to do ... Will be most interesting to keep track month to month and see if "IT" happens!
Here's wishing that you all find "IT" in the New Year!

Welcome to my home! and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Yes, The pics are a little fuzzy!
Here's a view from my entry way ...Note the little Nativity to the left! I think I need a little greenery on that table or around the mirror....

Maybe a little boring here..but I love my leaded glass front door!!

Trying for that fab fuzzy effect..NOT!..

Cozying up to the fire ....

Christmas Past...

This is a cherished picture of my Great Auntie Tone's Christmas tree village. It is thought to have been taken in the 1950's. It almost looks like it could be in a store display window. Auntie Tone and my Grandmother always had the most beautiful holiday displays with trains and villages, Nativity Scenes, and the most stunning tree decorations with the tinsel and the lights and the erethral Angels! Note the mix of patterns in the wallpaper, draperies, carpet...Gotta love vintage!
